Other local jewelry makers told him it was a mistake. `Pure gold,` they said, `was simply too soft and too heavy to use.` Gurhan chose to trust his instinct and retreated to a small, quiet workshop.
He decided to leave all the modern rules of making jewelry behind. Instead, he looked back in time. He taught himself the lost skills of ancient jewelry makers, bringing their forgotten craft back to life for the world to see.

From there, the idea moves through a careful process of refinement. Prototypes are made, proportions are adjusted, and each detail is considered for balance, comfort, and lasting structure. By the time a piece reaches its final finish, it carries his eye and attention in the way it looks, feels, and wears.
Lightness Without Compromise
While the hammering process gives the surface its strength and texture, we also engineer structure on the inside. Some solutions are visible in texture; others are hidden in construction. Some of the most remarkable traditional techniques are also the least visible. One example is hollow hammering, where a form is shaped to feel substantial while remaining comfortable to wear.
