The Gold Gives It Away
The surface tells you first. Hammered rather than polished, 24K gold holds a warmth and a depth that flat metal cannot, and that is what registers from across a room. Then the shapes come forward. Vertigo in hammered tubular beads with gemstone cabochons set between them. Hoopla in oval links, substantial and openly worked. Spell in lentils and balls. Rain in beaded strands falling at graduating lengths. Willow scattering leaf flakes down a chain, Dew hanging briolettes as fringe, Embrace laying faceted gemstones side by side, Pointelle taking diamonds into clusters, grids and rivière lines.
Every one of these has stayed with us. They have grown with each new gemstone Gurhan Orhan could not put down, and they remain instantly recognizable. That is what makes a design iconic. Diamond pavé enters as a single charged accent, never full coverage. Ruby, emerald, sapphire and opal come in on their own terms, and often the gemstone is what sends a design somewhere new. "Never Ordinary" runs through all of it, and these are the designs that put it there.
Pure Gold, Mastered
Pure gold is soft. Soft enough that a form can slip away while it is being made, which is why most of the industry settled on alloys generations ago. Gurhan Orhan looked further back instead, to the earliest goldsmiths of ancient Mesopotamia, who had already solved this once. Those methods, revived and adapted, are what let 24K gold carry real structure in our designs. Our artisans learned them from Gurhan Orhan himself.
Everything is hand-hammered, so no two surfaces come out alike, even across two versions of the same design. Each is then signed with our logo, the gold purity hallmark and a unique serial number. More than two decades in, these designs still read as ours because the method behind them has held to the same standard from the first piece.
